Madi Barnicoat – Seamstress, Textile Artist and Costumer
Hi! I’m a graduate of the Costume Production for Theatre, Film, and TV course at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, with over 3 years of industry experience and a deep love for all things costume. My journey began with cosplay, where I developed a passion for crafting and an eye for detail that I’ve carried into my professional career.
Since then, I’ve worked on a wide range of productions, from period dramas like Sanditon and The Pale Horse to contemporary projects like Ralph and Katie and I Hate You. Whether I’m working as a costume standby, breaking down garments for a gritty look, or crafting in the workroom, I pride myself on being adaptable, organized, and thriving under pressure.
I’m also excited to be partnering with Velveteena Leigh, blending our skills and creativity to create exceptional costumes for stage and screen. My work isn’t just about sewing—it’s about storytelling through fabric, bringing characters to life, and collaborating with incredible teams to make it all happen.
When I’m not on set or in the studio, you might catch me at conventions hosting embroidery tutorials or sharing my love for costume with others. Let’s make something extraordinary together!
